Wet or Dry Dog Food.. which is the better choice?

There are so many choices of dog food - do you want to choose wet food, dry food, moist food and then there are the choices of brands. Where do you start in trying to figure out which one will be best fit for your dog or puppy.

Asking your Vet is one for sure way to find out which is best for your dog, but there are other things that come into play when choosing the right dog food for your dog. Is your dog a Senior? Does your dog have health issues? What is your dog's size/ breed/ etc? What brand and or type will fit into your finances?

Honestly, both kinds of dog food are acceptable. Dry dog food is made up of dry ingredients, small amount of water is added and then the dough is then baked and made into little shapes.. (little bones). You can also check the ingredients to see what mixture your dry dog food is made up of to help determine what your dog likes, dislikes or needs as a part of his health program.

Wet dog food contains wet ingredients such as meat, vegetables and have more water included in the mixture. Canned foods are more easily digested but sometimes can cause stomach problems, especially if eating too quickly. Wet food is a great choice for older dogs who have a hard time chewing or have teeth issues as it is softer in their mouth.

The best way to choose the right food for your dog is to research and talk with your Vet. Your Vet can provide you with important nutritional value advice and a direction that you need that will be best for your dog.

Sugarbears Pampered Pets has a great selection of dog bowls for your dog's dining pleasure - whether you choose wet or dry food. Sugarbears Pampered Pets also has the Metal brake-fast Bowl for the little pigs in our lives. This great Brake-fast dog bowl keeps your dog from gulping down his food and slows him down, this will cut down on vomiting, stomach issues and lots more.

Remember - Table foods are not great for your dog. Please do not exceed 5% of your pet's daily food intake with table foods. It is super tempting to give your dog the left over hamburger or steak, but remember some table foods are unsafe and toxic to your dog. Onions, Chocolate, high fat foods with lots of butter or oil can lead to intestinal problems in your dog.
